It's More Than a Monument:
It’s more than just a monument…it’s the first National Monument: Devil’s Tower in Wyoming!
As someone with Native American heritage in my blood, I couldn’t help but feel such an amazing energetic and spiritual connection to this amazing place of wonder. There were so many people from so many countries all coming to look and feel and experience this.
According to the information at the visitor's center, weathering and erosion have created the vertical grooves in sides of the tower. However, the ancient native American story tells a different tale of how the grooves got into the side.
It’s said that 7 sisters trying to escape a sudden bear attack were magically hoisted up into the sky by a piece of earth. During the attack the bear clawed at the sides of the rock structure, creating the grooves.
The sisters were then carried away and transformed into stars that have been linked to being the 7 sisters of Pleiades (the ethereal constellation).
