Waning Cycle
We are now enveloped in the waning cycle of the moon. What is the waning cycle and why does it matter? The waning cycle occurs after the full moon and in between the full and the new moon, where the moon is slowly appearing to get smaller and smaller each night. To work with the energies of the moon at this time, we can also "release". This is the perfect time (as well as with the full moon) to do release work and letting go. This can be anything that helps us let go of things that no longer serve us from the past. Things like blocks that were instilled in us when we were younger by teachers, parents, family members, friends, siblings, anywhere along the lines where we picked up some little things that "stuck" with us....and now lingers in the back of our minds but yet doesn't serve us any real value.
One tried and true example is the saying "money doesn't grow on trees". This is a saying often told to young children in order to try and impose a sense of having value for things, well meaning, but also one that can hold people back later in life. If it's held onto it can be something that has stuck in their mind, thus "blocking" them or holding them back from manifesting their most amazing life, more money, better careers and life paths. It sounds like one is far away from the other - like how can one little saying like that while we are young really stop things from happening later in life? Think of it like a flowing river getting something caught in between a narrowed area...that one block can "catch" other blocks (debris) and soon the entire flowing river of prosperity is stopped up from a block that occurred during youth that we never thought a second time of.
Here are some of my favorite ways of doing release work:
Journal things that you have carried with you from the past. After you have created the list, burn it! Letting all those things go along with the flames, returning them to the earth and out of your mind! (make sure you do it in a safe fashion! outside and a fireproof container!) You can also just write them down, type them on your electronic device, and just journal them away without having the 'ceremonial fire' part. This can help with the visualization though, picturing the negativity burning away. Here is my favorite journal.
You can do a small meditation to 'bring up' the blocks. Sit with it for a moment before you start writing, close your eyes and see what comes to mind. Hold a crystal.
Get a candle and write down on the bottom all the things you want to let go of, then light the candle and picture those things burning away. Each time you light the candle, think of the things you wrote down, letting more and more go each time you light it!
