What's in Your Simmer Pot?
Do you “Simmer Pot”??
A simmer pot is a really nice way to warm up the house with both great intention as well as friendly aromatic fragrance during these cold days of winter! Making one is also therapeutic in a way that it adds moisture to the air as well as assisting in neutralizing the energy of the home to promote harmony.
What is a simmer pot? It is a pot full of water (moon water if you are really serious) or clean tap water works fine too. You add different things to the pot and leave it on the stove on simmer all day to infuse the air with different fruits, herbs, and/or spices depending on your intentions. Below are a few that I frequently use during the winter months but feel free to augment to suit your tastes and intentions.
* Orange or lemon slices - for clarity, cleansing, and fresh energy
* Rosemary sprig(s) - removes negativity and harmonizes the space
* Cinnamon sticks - for protection and prosperity
* Cloves - balances energy and draws in abundance
* Himalayan salt - absorbs any impurities or negative energy to clear the way for freshness
* Vanilla - attracts wealth and abundance
Any combination of the ingredients above will work. If you do not have exactly these items, you can certainly improvise and experiment with ingredients that you already may have on hand. Intention plays a big part. As you add each item, think how blessed you are for the item you are adding to your simmer pot, and what that item brings to the harmony of your home (and delicious smelling simmer pot).
