Retirement, Side Hustle & Marketing — Oh my!
As another coworker said her intent on retiring to me, not only was I panged with the mix of feelings of excitement for her to be experiencing this amazing achievement, but of course also a sadness for the loss of a great coworker and friend.
Loss…that word makes it sound like a death or passing, not that serious thankfully! But it is the closing of a chapter, the parting ways of seeing a person/friend/colleague on a regular basis…or maybe even at all.
Aside from the feelings associated with work and the things associated with that person’s position, do you ever feel an unusual sense of being left behind when this occurs? It has never felt more intense than this instance.
The same feelings I’m sure are felt by many if not most when hearing similar news from colleagues in the workplace. It doesn’t make it any easier, and being here for 24 years, I have seen my share of friends, colleagues and coworkers retire, move, and or move on to other ventures in their lives.
For me, having started some side hustles over the years, and also for years, wanting to pursue those as more of my interests were in the direction of those side hustles. Needless to say, the desire is burning hotter than ever to put the pedal down to work on my side projects and bring them to light.
If you have heard that story before and have been in my same shoes and have wanted to start something of your own, join me on being a part of the Systeme io team! Click here! Let’s do this together!
This is for me a place where i can put everything together from email list (work in progress) to links to my other blog.
